Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean and Hopsin

So recently the music industry has had a little shake up in the form of fresh talent and personality breaking into the mainstream. In particular I'm talking about Tyler Okonma, better know as Tyler, The Creator.
If you listen to any of his music you can instantly recognise a distinct style of his, his deep voice often rapping about sensitive subjects with an 'I don't give a fuck' attitude. Lyrics such as 'Rape a pregnant bitch and tell my friends I has a threesome' have been heavily criticised for obvious reasons. It's this style and content that helped Tyler gain the attention he needed to break into the mainstream. If you were to watch a video of Tyler, The Creator you would instantly think that his behaviour resembles that of a hyperactive 7 year old on a sugar rush, but on further inspection you can tell that this guy is down to earth (in a strange kind of way). His behaviour is a refreshing take on handling stardom, such as when he turned an interview on its head by snatching the question sheet from the interviewer and ribbed him for having 'Shitty Questions'.

Frank Ocean is a complete inverse to Tyler, he is quiet professional and is more so famous for his talented voice rather than attention seeking lyrics. He has gained most his widespread attention through the release of his acclaimed mixtape nostalgia, ULTRA. However, Ocean has had his fingers in a few pies of the music industry, writing songs for Justin Bieber, John Legend, Brandy and BeyoncĂ©. Frank Ocean is now currently continuing his rise to fame by opening concerts for Coldplay, Coachella and other various summer festivals.

What's perhaps the most amazing fact about these two artists is that they are both in the same hip hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (often shortened to just OFWGKTA or Odd Future). The two are part of an around 13 people ground who regularly release mixtapes.

However not everyone has been openly accepting to the new characters entering the music scene. New kid on the block Hopsin openly dissed Tyler, The Creator on his song Ill Mind of Hopsin 4. He raps that Tyler has 'Wack beats and Gap Teeth' continuing 'Motherfucker, you not dope'. In a way it's easy to see where Hopsin is coming from, Tyler does stupid stuff and behaves outrageously to gain attention. But it works right, isn't that just good promo?..
